Many thanks to all of you...

A big "thank you" to everyone who visited my blog and my website to see the new bears. All have been adopted and many are on their way to their new homes.

"Thank you" to everyone who adopted one of my bears and "thank you" to those who requested a bear, but weren't able to get one. I'll be making more bears soon, and I hope you will be able to get a new furry friend next time. Please visit my blog again as I plan to post at least once (or more times) a week to let you know what's going on with me, my bears, and Riley, too.

Finally, I'd like to thank everyone for your understanding and patience last Sunday when my website update did not go as I had planned! My son is still trying to resolve the problem....but thank goodness I started this blog. It saved the day and I think I will continue to use it, along with my website, whenever I have new bears ready for adoption.

big bear hugs,
Mary

The show must go on!! (even though I'm having a nervous breakdown!)

I am so sorry that I messed up on my website. I never should have thought I could do it by myself without my son. Oh well, live and learn. But here are the bears. Just scroll down to see their pictures and a list of their sizes and adoption fees are at the bottom. I'm sorry I don't have time to add a description. Please email me at marygeorgebears@yahoo.com if you would like to adopt a bear. I will get back to you as soon as I can. I need a drink first! (even though I don't drink--my nerves are shot right now.) Please note that I have a layaway plan--just ask. Preferred method of payment is check, money order, or credit card on PayPal. Shipping fees are for the continental USA. Overseas shipping extra. Just ask me if you have any questions. And you don't know how sorry I am for this mix-up!!

The list of bear sizes and names are:
25" Clifton
23" Reggie
24" Tessa
10" Smudge

Some teddy bear preview pics...

Here are preview pics of teddy bears that will be up for adoption at my website ( www.marygeorgebears.com ) on Sunday, September 7, beginning at 4:00 p.m. EST.

This is the first time I've done any kind of preview, but some collectors liked the idea so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm only including pictures and the bear's name, but no information on sizes or adoption fees because the bears will not be available until they are posted on my website.

Teddy bear adoptions will be honored on a first come, first serve basis. It is best to email me if you would like to adopt a bear, rather than phone, because it is easier for me to keep track of emails and sort them by delivery date. I will let you know as soon as possible if the bear you would like to adopt is available. If you have a second choice in mind, you can let me know in the email with your first choice. Layaway is available in 2, 3, or 4 payment plans with the first payment due at time of adoption and then one payment every 30 days until all payments are made.

12 bears are pictured below, but there may be a few more on my website tomorrow if I can get them ready in time. I will try to get their pictures posted later today if possible.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog.
lots of bear hugs,
Mary

Message about preview pics

I'm working on preview pics--but I probably won't be able to start uploading until later tonight. I'm still learning to use this "blog" and yesterday's practice session with the zoo pics helped, but I'm still learning. I'm working on how I want to present the preview because what I thought I would be able to do isn't working, but I'll figure it out. It might be late (after everyone is asleep), but by morning the pics should be here. Thanks for being so patient. The first time doing something is always the hardest!
bear hugs,
Mary

Butterflies, polar bears, white wolves, and Riley too...

Tonight I received an email from my son with the pictures he took during our visit to the zoo a few weeks ago (I forgot to take my camera, but fortunately he remembered his), and I thought I'd share a few of my favorites with you. They include polar bears and a white wolf from the "Artic Encounters" exhibit. Polar bears are my favorite bear and I'm really worried about their survival in the wild with so much of their habitat melting away. I've also posted a couple pictures from the "Butterfly House". It's a fun exhibit because there are hundreds of butterflies from all over the U.S. flying all around you as you walk through it. The photos don't do the exhibit justice though, because you just can't see how many butterflies there really are. But walking through the exhibit is amazing--butterflies flying all around and landing not only on the plants and flowers, but on the people too. And last, but not least, I had to post a couple pictures of my favorite real live "teddy bear," our little dog, Riley. He's so cute, I just want to hug and squeeze him all the time!

Well, that's the end of my pictures for today. I hope you enjoyed seeing them. Check back Friday/Saturday because I'm planning on putting up some teddy bear pictures as a preview to my website update scheduled for Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. EST ( www.marygeorgebears.com )
Sunday is also "Grandparent's Day"-- so HAPPY GRANDPARENT'S DAY to all the grandparents!

Bunnies in my garden...

Welcome to my new blog. I decided I had to figure out a better way to stay in touch with everyone and I thought maybe a "blog" would be a good and easy way to let everyone know what's going on with me and my bears, and of course, Riley, too. (For those of you that don't know, Riley is the newest member of our family--he's our sweet little shih-tzu/poodle mix)

So here goes:

Here's some pictures of my bunny friends--read more about them below:

This summer has been a hectic time for me and I feel bad that I haven't been able to stay in touch with so many of you. My three sons were all home, on and off, this summer and we tried to get in as much family time doing things together as we could. Now that our two older sons have finished college and started their careers (one here in Michigan and one out-of-state), and the youngest is in college, it's harder to get all together as a family, so whenever we can, we try to make the most of it.

There were also times we spent with other family members like my father-in-law, who, bless his heart, will be celebrating his 89th birthday on September 5th. He's a World War II veteran and we were so happy we could take him to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. this past June.

We also spent some time working on our house and our yard--it seems like there is always something that needs updating or fixing. This year I planted lots of pretty wave petunias in the front yard for some color, and I watered and fertilized them regularly, but I couldn't understand why they were not growing or blooming....until one morning when I looked outside and saw three bunny rabbits munching on my petunia plants!! Needless to say, I have no more petunias growing in my flower beds, just a few day lilies that were able to survive the bunnies ( they were eating the lilies too!) The only other flowers that have survived are a very pretty hanging basket of petunias and some pots of impatients that are on the porch. But those rascally little bunnies did try to eat some of the hanging basket petunias too--at least the ones they could reach--as you can see in the photos above.

Well, I guess this will be the end of my first blog post. I'm going to try to post something at least once or twice a week. Please check back whenever you have a chance. I am also going to be posting pictures of some of the teddy bears that will be part of my September 7, 2008 website update on this blog starting September 5. I thought it might be fun to have a little preview.
lots of bear hugs to all--Mary
